Before you can treat any sleep disorders you first have to know the sleep disorder symptoms. Every one of us could sometimes get that odd sleepless night that just can’t get to turn off all activities and fall asleep. You can have a lot to blame for this.   • Insomnia – This is the most common sleep disorder. You are simply not getting enough sleep to feel rested and refreshed. Insomnia is often an offshoot of another underlying problem like depression, stress or a medical condition. It can also be due a lifestyle choice. Working too much, drinking too much coffee or working at night could lead to busted body clocks and eventually insomnia. Symptoms include light sleep and frequent awakenings, sluggishness and sleepiness during the day and difficulty of falling asleep.
  • Sleep Apnea – The inability to sleep is caused by the breathing disorder that results from obstructions in the airways. People with sleep apnea actually stop breathing for a certain period. Sleep disorder symptoms from sleep apnea could pose serious health and safety risks. Most common symptoms are snoring, irregular breathing with gaps and pauses, gasping and choking while asleep, headaches and disorientation especially in the morning.
  • Narcolepsy – This is manifested with excessive and uncontrollable sleepiness especially during the day. Signs include dreaming before you even fall asleep, sudden weakness and loss of muscle control when excited, intense dreams and the inability to move immediately as you wake up.
  • Restless Leg Syndrome – This is characterized with the uncontrolled and excessive movements of the limbs while lying down. Sleep disorder symptoms for RLS include leg jerks, uncomfortable legs, relentless urge to leg movement and temporary relief after movements.

There are also sleep disorders that are associated with the Circadian Rhythm or the disruption of it.
